The Watering Hole

 The thirst must be quenched. At last, the watering hole comes into view, its surface glittering beneath the afternoon sun. I lower my head cautiously, watching the reeds, the trees, the still water. One careful sip. Then another. Relief washes over me - but I never stop listening. On the savanna, even a drink must be earned.
